Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute (POVAI) is an intensive, career-focused training and performance program in the heart of Southern Italy, created for the next generation of professional opera singers and led by an internationally distinguished faculty of master teachers, conductors, coaches, and industry leaders. The program uniquely integrates operatic and classic musical theater training, offering singers a direct pathway to a versatile international career. POVAI welcomes both opera and classical/legit musical theater artists and provides specialized training, casting, and performance opportunities for each.

THE POVAI EXPERIENCE

Limited enrollment. Individualized casting, role assignments, and performance opportunities based on application and repertoire.

• Perform a principal role in a fully staged opera or classic musical theater production with orchestra
• Gain multiple performance opportunities through double-casting of roles and covers
• Perform staged scenes tailored to individual repertoire (for artists not cast in a full production)
• Receive role study and coaching on a role of your choice
• Receive individualized vocal technique training with internationally distinguished faculty
• Receive stylistic coaching in both operatic and classic musical theater repertoire
• Receive Italian language instruction in grammar, conversation, and practical communication for daily life in Italy
• Participate in daily coachings in music, language, and style
• Work in masterclasses with leading artists and industry professionals
• Receive professional audition preparation and career consultations
• Selected artists invited directly to the Semi-Finals of the Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition
• Audition for artist management, including Premiere Artists and leading international agencies
• Study and perform in the historic heart of Puglia — Trani, Italy
